Step 1: Download and Install CCleaner
If you haven't already, download and install CCleaner from the official website. You can choose the free version, which provides basic cleaning and secure file deletion features.
Step 2: Launch CCleaner
After installation, open CCleaner on your computer. You'll see the main user interface with various options for cleaning and optimization.
Step 3: Select Files for Secure Deletion
In CCleaner, click on the "Custom Clean" option on the left sidebar. This allows you to select specific files and folders for secure deletion. Check the boxes next to the files and folders you want to securely delete. You can easily visit Ccleaner Support whenever you want.
Step 4: Configure Secure Deletion Settings
Once you've selected the files, click on the "Options" button in the lower-left corner. In the Options menu, make sure the "Secure Deletion" option is enabled. You can choose the number of passes for secure deletion; the more passes, the more secure the deletion. The default setting is usually sufficient for most users.
Step 5: Start the Secure Deletion Process
Return to the main CCleaner window and click the "Analyze" button to preview what will be deleted. Review the list to ensure you've selected the right files. If everything looks good, click "Run Cleaner" to start the secure deletion process.
Step 6: Confirm Deletion
CCleaner will prompt you to confirm the secure deletion. Click "OK" to proceed. The selected files will be securely overwritten with random data, making them extremely difficult to recover.
Step 7: Review Results
Once the process is complete, CCleaner will display a summary of what was deleted. You can review this report to ensure the intended files were securely deleted.
Step 8: Empty Recycle Bin
To ensure that the securely deleted files are not recoverable, it's a good practice to empty your computer's Recycle Bin after using CCleaner.
